Sustainable Facade: Douglas Fir for the New KISPI – Children's Hospital Zurich
The impressive new building of the Children's Hospital Zurich, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, sets new standards in architecture and healthcare. HIRAM Habitat supplied 300 m³ of facade elements made from rift-sawn Douglas fir for the building's striking exterior.
Holiday home KLEINE BLEIBE, Montabaur, Germany
Minimalist design meets a consistent choice of sustainable materials – the foundation of this unique project. The vision of the clients and architects: a retreat that combines simplicity and sustainability. This was brought to life through a solid concrete base, a black wooden façade, and the use of silver fir wood for floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture.

A charming restaurant with ambiance and history. Nestled in the heart of Skagen, Denmark, the hotel combines maritime charm with top-quality furnishings and cuisine. In this cozy home, the bright HIRAM Habitat Douglas fir floorboards span two levels, creating a healthy, natural atmosphere for the whole family. The levels are connected by a staircase with steps made from the same wood. With light-filled rooms, exposed wood ceilings, and a blend of modern and vintage furniture, a character-rich space emerges—a true place of comfort and well-being.
Scandinavian family home, Itzehoe
Abundant light, minimalist furnishings, and a light HIRAM Habitat Douglas fir plank floor make this family home north of Hamburg a natural and inviting space. In the open living and dining area, the plank flooring is complemented by a dining table made from matching wood. In this historic building renovation, the architectural firm Fröhlich and Gassner Architects focused on using natural materials. HIRAM Habitat oak floorboards perfectly complement this approach. The highlight of the project is the spacious living area in the attic, where the exposed ceiling beams lend the space an impressive aura.
Restaurant Design
The 3D visualization by Interior Butler showcases the versatile applications of the Oak OCEAN panels in modern restaurants. The wave-like, planed surface creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow. The panels can be installed to cover entire walls or used in select areas to add striking accents in restaurants, bars, or hotel lobbies.
Modern Residential, Ustersbach
This modern residential impresses with clear lines and Japanese design accents. The HIRAM Habitat Ocean wallpanels, a facade in charcoal optics and a beautiful stone garden complete the minimalist Japandi style of the house.
Tiny House
A sustainable tiny house built with pure-grade construction methods. This project was created based on a design by students from the Faculty of Architecture at KIT - Karlsruhe. The HIRAM Habitat solid wood planks and stairs made from silver fir, as well as the Douglas fir decking boards, fit into the concept of using fully recyclable materials.

Private Villa, lake Ammer
A gem on lake Ammer, where an ash wide plank floor by HIRAM Habitat was installed. This completely wooden detached family house has been a very special project for us. This exterior Rift & quarter sawn cladding was manufactured of Douglas fir wood. The vertical grain cladding is stable and particurlarly durable. The vertical annual rings create a calm, straight and uniform surface texture.
