The use of wood creates a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior of this family home. Wood, as a central design element, is employed throughout the building. The larch wood facade is complemented inside with HIRAM Habitat floorboards made from Black Forest silver fir. This holistic, ecological design concept sees the engineered silver fir floorboards playing a key role in creating a natural living atmosphere.
The use of wood in the interior creates an aesthetic unity that brings nature into the home. The light design of the floor is continued with furniture wood and custom-made staircase treads. For the furniture and stair construction, the homeowners opted for a consistent use of silver fir and high-quality HIRAM Habitat blockboard. Silver fir is not only visually appealing but also has a noticeably soft surface texture. Treated with lye white and soap white, the silver fir floor provides a durable and robust base for family life. Combined with underfloor heating, the engineered floorboards create the perfect foundation for enjoyable play, running around, and walking barefoot.
Generous window openings provide an unobstructed view of the surrounding nature and allow daylight to flood the interior. This thoughtful connection between indoor and outdoor spaces enhances the feeling of openness and spaciousness while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
This concept demonstrates how thoughtful material selection and sustainable architecture convey not only functional but also aesthetic and ecological values. Architects and builders who choose HIRAM Habitat opt for a design that is in harmony with nature.
