The architects, who were also the homeowners of the property, envisioned creating a nature-inspired and sustainable home for their family. In the process, two unique worlds emerged through the structure and interior design of the house - the world of exposed concrete and the world of wood. The concrete, as an industrial and rugged material, merges with a living environment made of wood, which with its fine and natural texture creates a healthy living climate. The HIRAM Habitat vertical grain Silver fir floor planks, thanks to their durable quality, provide the ideal foundation for all stages of the family's life.
The house spans two levels and is gently recessed. The large glass fronts offer a direct view into the garden, forming a transition between living space and nature. The lower area features a base of exposed concrete made of lightweight concrete. The ground floor is complemented by a lightweight wooden structure, which opens up a completely different world with the bedrooms on the upper floor.
In the upper floor, the builders have found the ideal companion for a natural and healthy atmosphere with Silver Fir Wood. The HIRAM Habitat solid wood planks made of local Silver Fir create a secure environment where children can sleep and play carefree. Clay plaster walls complement the healthy indoor climate and complete the concept of untreated living.
"It's ideal for walking barefoot, kids can roam around on it effortlessly, and it's incredibly low-maintenance. Just a quick wipe with wood floor soap every two weeks and it feels as good as new."
